Learning Awesome Life Lessons On This Journey

So far my journey of doing 30 things before I’m 30 has been quite successful. I’ve been off road motorcycling!

OFF ROAD MOTORCYCLING

This experience was really scary at first, but then I really enjoyed it. I have ridden a motorcycle before, but not off road and up huge hills! It really was a case of mind over matter, as I learnt how to take each hill at a time. I also learnt not to look at a hill as an obstacle, but to look over it and see the other side. I am trying to look at life that way too now. We all have many obstacles that we face in life, but if we dwell too much on them, they can begin to take over and dictate what we do. So look at each hill as simply part of the journey in getting to the end. That’s what got me through it!

PIANO LESSONS

I have taken a few lessons now and am definitely becoming more confident with it. I know my Crotchet from my Semibreve! To be honest I thought I would pick it up quite quickly being a singer, but that is simply not the case. I’m still not the best piano player in the world, but I’m getting there.

RECORD A DUET WITH MY HUSBAND

Yup, we did it! We went into a recording studio and recorded three tracks. It really was something! I’m really proud of my husband because he was singing like a pro (and remember I said LIKE). We had so much fun and just went for it. This was one of those memories that I’ll never forget.

HOUSE PARTY

I had a house party with my close family and friends. It’s always nice to get everyone together to catch up and just have a good time. I really enjoyed myself and it was lovely to share our home with others. The Xbox was out with Dance Central and so were the really bad dance moves. Drinks were flowing and there was a bit of Karaoke. I would do another one, but when it’s your house, YOU have to clean up afterwards (rubbish).

OLYMPICS

2012 was huge here in the UK with the London Olympics. I fought hard to get a ticket and ended up getting two sets! I went to watch the gymnastics games and also the athletics. The way the UK pulled together to make it a memorable experience was priceless.
